Aftercare

keep the garms fresh

We have gone above and beyond in sourcing and using great quality fabrics in our garment construction, so this means they need to be looked after as best as possible. Here is some advice on aftercare on your goods after your purchase.

    KNITWEAR

A collection we have grown throughout time and our most asked question on how this is looked after. As we spend a lot of time, effort and research into our knitwear, it doesn't all wash the same.

Delicate Yarns: such as alpaca, wool and mohair. It is recommended that you dry clean these only. Wool cannot be washed as a natural fibre and is subject to shrinkage at warm temperatures. We use many high wool content yarns which are dry clean only, if they contain poly, acrylic or nylon, this makes them more able to wash.

100% Cotton: If your knit is 100% cotton, you can machine wash this as standard instructions. It washes brilliantly!

Pilling: this is completely natural on high quality and high natural fibre knitwear pieces, like the Cropped Wool Knits. It is actually a sign of great quality natural yarn, if it pills, simply use a razor to remove this (pilling or standard shaving!)

Synthetics: we try to avoid synthetics, but its not always possible, in knits like gradient. These are fine to machine wash as they are more durable than natural yarns.

    JERSEY

We have now started making all our jersey (tees, sweats, hoodies, joggers) in Portugal using the finest organic cotton materials. We pre-shrink our fabrics, but they still cannot be washed hot or tumble dried. Always wash cold and iron inside out!

As we use 250-450gsm fabrics, these are almost 70% heavier than your standard 180gsm t-shirts, meaning they dry different. These can absorb a lot of water whilst being washed due to a condensed level of fibres.

It therefore can have small hidden creases whilst drying over time which can make the item seems like it has shrunk, when it actually just needs a high heat iron to stretch the fibres back into its shape.

Most of the times you think your tshirt has shrunk, it hasn't, you just need to get the iron out for once!

    HOW TO LOOK AFTER

    COATS & JACKETS

The key is not to over-wash them. Most outerwear doesn’t need frequent cleaning. Instead, air your jacket out after wearing it and only wash when necessary, always following the care label. For small marks, spot cleaning with a damp cloth is usually enough, while more delicate pieces like wool coats are best dry cleaned. Avoid hot washes, as they can damage fabrics and cause shrinkage.

Storage also plays a big role in maintaining shape and quality. Always hang coats on sturdy, structured hangers to support the shoulders, and avoid overcrowding your wardrobe so fabrics can breathe. If a jacket gets wet, let it air dry naturally at room temperature rather than using direct heat like radiators, which can ruin the material.

Regular upkeep, like brushing wool coats, zipping garments before washing, and fixing small issues early, helps preserve both the look and lifespan of your outerwear.

    CORDUROY

Corduroy needs a bit more care than standard fabrics because of its textured surface. It’s best to wash it only when necessary, using a cold, gentle cycle and turning the garment inside out to protect the ridges (the “wale”). Avoid overloading the machine, as friction can flatten the texture. For small marks, spot cleaning is ideal, and always use mild detergent. When it comes to drying, skip the tumble dryer where possible and let it air dry naturally to maintain both shape and softness.

To keep corduroy looking its best, store it properly and avoid crushing the fabric for long periods. Hanging is usually better than folding, as it prevents creases from setting into the ridges. If the fabric starts to look flat, a light steam or gentle brushing can help revive the texture.

With our cord pants, iron inside out to regain any shape after washing.

    HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR

    DENIM

Denim is designed to be durable, but it actually lasts longer and looks better when it’s washed less often. Instead of frequent washing, air your denim out after wearing and only clean it when needed. When you do wash it, turn it inside out and use a cold cycle with mild detergent to help preserve the colour and fabric strength. Avoid over-washing, as this can cause fading and weaken the material over time.

Drying and storage are just as important. Let denim air dry naturally rather than using a tumble dryer, as heat can shrink the fabric and affect the fit. Hanging or laying flat works best to maintain shape. Over time, denim develops its own character through wear, so small fades and creases are part of its appeal. Keeping care simple and avoiding excessive heat or washing will help your denim hold its structure and look better for longer.
